Dr. Jim Abeler
Dr. Jim Abeler is a licensed Chiropractor serving the Anoka community for over 30 years! As a second generation Chiropractor Dr. Abeler is proud to be a part of the legacy his father started over a half century ago. He has made it a practice to put service first to the over 40,000 people they have cared for over the years.
His technique includes a gentle approach to spinal care utilizing the use of an Activator for adjusting, kinesiology, spinal and muscular balancing, nutritional advice and a strong emphasis on personal responsibility on the part of the patient. In addition, Dr. Abeler looks for underlying causes of any disturbance or disruption (which may or may not be causing symptoms at the time) and make whatever interventions and lifestyle adjustments that would optimize the conditions for normal function.
Dr. Abeler believes that good health does not cost but rather pays huge dividends and is gratified to see so many people enjoy improved health as they seek and continue his care.
Dr. Sarah Pickhardt
In practice since 1998, Dr Sarah specializes in women’s and children’s natural healthcare, as well as those with chronic or inflammatory diseases. Additionally, she enjoys guiding her patients to make wise lifestyle choices. She is trained in the Activator technique and also utilizes drop table and manual adjustments when appropriate.
Her gentle, holistic approach includes soft t issue work, nutrition, exercise, cranio-sacral therapy and energy work. As a doctor of chiropractic who treats three generations in her own family, Dr. Sarah’s passion is the privilege of being a part of improving the lives of families, young and old, through chiropractic.
Dr. Thea Killeen
A long time resident of Coon Rapids, MN, Dr. Thea Killeen has been in clinical practice for over 10 years primarily in the Uptown area of Minneapolis. She recently moved her clinical practice to Abeler Chiropractic in Anoka and is excited to be more available to friends, family and neighbors in the community.

Her focus is on the neurological evaluation and treatment of chronic pain. She has a long history of success in the feild of chronic pain and has studied extensively with the Carrick Institute of Neurology of Florida. In addition, she holds her acupuncture certification and is passionate about utilizing alternative medicine to treat complicated women’s and children’s health conditions.
Dr. Thea also serves as a community volunteer and has been an involved member of the MN Chiropractic Associations Legislative Committee. She has had the privileged opportunity to be asked to treat multiple performers, celebrities and musicians visiting and living in the Minneapolis/St. Paul areas and was the chiropractor to the MN Vikings cheerleaders from 1999-2003. She enjoys working with athletes and sharing her expertise to support them in achieving their performance goals.
Dr. Thea has extensive experience as an athletic trainer, wellness coach and public speaker.
Dr. Joel Vlaminck
Joel Vlaminck, D.C., M.S., graduated from Logan College of Chiropractic in 2008. He attended undergraduate school at the University of St. Thomas, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Biology. He has also earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology. He further went on to earn a Master of Science in Sports Science and Rehabilitation, through which he learned methods of analysis and treatment of athletic injuries and dysfunctional motions. Dr. Joel has been trained as an Active Release Technique® (ART) practitioner. Additionally, he has worked on numerous sidelines for youth football, track, and soccer providing injury triage, including the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) national track and field championships and the Missouri Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) track and field regional and state championships.
Dr. Joel uses a mixture of techniques to provide patients with a comprehensive and unique treatment plan. He takes the time to assess unique kinetic chains and identify postural adaptations. He understands the importance of an expedited return to activity many patients hold. By combining chiropractic, soft tissue mobilization techniques, and exercise rehabilitation, he aids patients to a quick recovery and lasting results.
